End of year thank you!
As the year closes we are reflecting on everything we’ve learned about running a non-profit and the people who are inspiring us. Since October 2020 we’ve distributed over 50K individual period products all around the city of Providence and learned a lot along the way. More importantly, we’ve learned about local organizations and met so many people who’ve devoted their time and their lives to understanding the needs in their community. We want to take a moment to thank them for their work and support!
Giving Tuesday!
Giving Tuesday is November 29th! Today around the globe individuals, organizations and nonprofits are advocating for radical generosity: the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering. We ask you to join this giving day and think of us at PVDPERIOD.! We are working hard to donate period products to those in need to the city of Providence - and we can only do it with your help.
2 year anniversary!
Happy 2 year anniversary to PVDPERIOD.!!
In two years we've donated a total of 48,500 individual period products! We started out solely donating to the Camp Street Food Pantry but over the last two years we've expanded our donation locations in an effort to serve more areas of the city. With the help of your donations we've been able to expand our donation efforts. To continue this we need your help!
Post Roe v. Wade
In a Post Roe world, the right for bodily and reproductive autonomy is under attack. This month we go over what’s been happing with states decisions, college students choice of schools, and how this decision has affected the safety of period tracking apps. At PVDPERIOD. we believe in a person’s right to choose what they want to do with their body. We see period poverty and period equity in conjunction with reproductive justice as essential public health policy and as a human rights issue.
Menstrual Hygiene Day!
Menstrual Hygiene Day is a global day of movement dedicated to promoting good menstrual hygiene by ending period stigma, increasing access to affordable period products, and educating everyone on menstrual health! PVDPERIOD. will be counting down to MH Day with Menstrual Monday on our Instagram!

Our 1 Year Anniversary!
1 year ago we started this venture with one goal in mind: to provide free period products for menstruators in Providence, RI. There have been many milestones for us, most notably becoming a non-profit organization and partnering with TOP - the organic project. But for us it comes down to the numbers: 1 year, 1 mission, 24,000 period products donated!
We’re buying in bulk!
Introducing our new packaging featuring Top organic product which allows us to reach a goal of dropping off 3,000 individual period products a month! We also added another drop off site, REFRI community fridge on Westminster Street!
Celebrating Pride Month
We celebrated Pride Month by providing a period product drop off to Youth Pride Inc - they serve Providence’s LGBTQ+ youth! We also announced we received our 501(c)(3) status, certifying our organization as a non-profit!
